Moon Magic: the tacky brand masquerading as high class

Is it just me or is Moon Magic way more popular (on paper) than it should be. I have used this brand on and off over the last few years and I always seem to find the most conflicting information whenever researching their products. Reddit is full of users claiming how terrible their customer service is (I 100% agree) while their google and website reviews are majority positive. In this post I'm going to go through why I personally think Moon Magic is not worth your money.

They Always Have Sales

I always feel it's a red flag when a brand has sales multiple times a year that slashes the majority of the price. Whenever I have made a purchase it was always a 'sale' price. Not only do the multiple sales suggest the products are overpriced in the first place, it proves to the consumer that they are not paying for a product that is worth the full price tag. At the same time, you could infer that the cost to manufacture is cheap.

Advertising

The fact that the first time I had heard of Moon Magic was in the back of a vogue magazine, I can safely say this heavily influenced my opinion on them. Vogue has always had a theme of 'elegance' or 'luxury' so naturally as a consumer I thought Vogue would only endorse brands of high quality. Obviously it failed to cross my mind that brands pay for these advertising slots.

The Materials Aren't 'Luxurious'

Whenever I see 'plated' jewellery that is priced extortionately more than their sterling silver counterpart, I find myself a bit dubious. For a brand that comes across as high class, the value of their products if taken at face value aren't worth much at all.

Maybe I'm just bitter because of the two rings I've owned from Moon Magic, one snapped and the other had a stone fall out. Safe to say I will not be buying from them again.
