If you have never heard of the Mindwalker series by Kate Dylan my god are you missing out. This duology blends a tech-infused universe, complex relationships/ found families, plus branched out characters with incredible dialogue. You will not want to put these books down. No spoilers ahead!

What pleasantly surprised me about both books is that they are told from different perspectives while still weaving into the same ongoing story. We start off with our heroine Sil, a young woman who has been in the Mindwalker program since she was a child. Mindwalkers are the 'property' of one of the tech monopolies of this world Syntex, known as their telepathic soldiers. Leading field agents through the use of consensual, technological mind control. However, the caveat of these abilities is the technology that allows Mindwalkers to take over their hosts mind ends up malfunctioning (i.e. exploding their brains) once they hit eighteen years old.

Once we come to a close of Sils story, we begin with our new protagonist Indra. An anti-tech, religious and sheltered cult girl who becomes bedridden with sickness. At an attempt to save her life, her father cast them out of said cult to chance a life saving procedure. Despite being 'cured' being alive isn't all it's cracked up to be for Indra when she realises her life was used as a sick experiment for a corporate bottom line.

In summary, if you love badass female leads and dystopian sci-fi read these books you'll love it.
